AG2

AG2 (formerly AutoGen) is an open-source multi-agent AI framework originally created by Microsoft Research and now maintained as an independent nonprofit project. It enables developers to build systems where multiple AI agents collaborate, debate, and coordinate to solve complex tasks.

The framework supports customizable agent roles, flexible conversation patterns, and human-in-the-loop workflows. AG2 agents can execute code, use tools, and interact with external services while maintaining structured multi-turn conversations. The project has become one of the most popular open-source agent frameworks, with a large community contributing extensions for RAG, code generation, and task planning.
