Founded in 1983 and headquartered in University Park, Illinois, Applied is one of the largest insurance-technology vendors. Its 2025 acquisition of Cytora added a generative-AI risk-processing platform that ingests unstructured commercial submissions and claims and, via its Autopilot capability, runs self-executing underwriting workflows — pushing Applied into agentic insurance automation.
