Applied Systems is a long-standing provider of software for insurance agencies and brokers, including the Applied Epic management system and Ivans connectivity network. Founded in 1983 and headquartered in University Park, Illinois, Applied is one of the largest insurance-technology vendors. Its 2025 acquisition of Cytora added a generative-AI risk-processing platform that ingests unstructured commercial submissions and claims and, via its Autopilot capability, runs self-executing underwriting workflows — pushing Applied into agentic insurance automation.
