Commure

Commure is a healthcare-technology company, incubated and backed by General Catalyst, that is consolidating a broad set of AI capabilities — ambient clinical documentation, revenue-cycle management (RCM), and hospital operations — into a single platform used across large provider organizations. Rather than a single point solution, Commure's strategy has been to assemble a full "operating system" for health systems through building and acquiring, most notably absorbing ambient-scribe maker Augmedix in 2024 and the healthcare-operations company Athelas. It reached a reported valuation of roughly $7 billion in 2026.

The platform spans AI scribing (via Augmedix), autonomous and assisted revenue-cycle workflows, staff-safety and operations tooling, and clinician-facing copilots, and the company reports use across hundreds of organizations and thousands of care sites spanning dozens of EHRs. Commure's positioning — one AI-native platform rather than a patchwork of vendors — is both its pitch and its risk: consolidation promises simpler procurement and data flow, but health systems weigh that against depending on a single fast-moving vendor. Note that Augmedix, catalogued separately, is now a Commure product line rather than an independent company.
