Convai Innovations

Convai Innovations is a small artificial intelligence company based at the Kerala Startup Mission in Kasaragod, India, led by chief executive Nandakishor. It builds what it calls sovereign, on-device AI: models that run on a customer's own machine rather than in a cloud service, aimed at settings where data cannot leave the building.

Its main commercial product is Nadhi Audit, an offline code-security auditor for healthcare software. It reviews source code on the customer's own Mac with a model the company trained itself, checks it against the OWASP Top 10 and the CWE catalogue, and writes compliance reports for HIPAA in the United States, the DPDP Act in India and GDPR in Europe. A licence is sold for 600 dollars a year. The company also publishes research, including papers in the BMJ, and works on clinical tools it calls AI4Cardio and Nadhi Co-Scientist.

In September 2026 it released Laya, an open-weight decision model under the Apache 2.0 license. Laya answers typed questions about a ticket, email or document with calibrated probabilities instead of writing text, and it arrived three days after TypeSafe AI launched Jev, a hosted model built on the same idea. Laya is small enough to run on a single graphics card, and its code gathered several thousand stars on GitHub within days. Every published comparison with Jev is the company's own, and its strongest benchmark result comes from a checkpoint fine-tuned on that benchmark's training data, so it should be read as a promising first release rather than a proven one.
