Flock Freight is a freight-technology company founded in 2015 and headquartered in San Diego, California, that attacks a specific inefficiency: trucks running partly empty. Its Shared Truckload (STL) model pools multiple shipments into a single full truckload so more freight moves per mile, and it reached unicorn status with a Series E in 2025.

The load-bearing AI is a real-time pooling and pricing algorithm that evaluates an enormous combinatorial space — effectively trillions of possible shipment combinations — to find the matches that fill trucks profitably. That optimization is the product, not a dashboard on top of a brokerage.
