Instead of chasing thousand-mile highway routes, Gatik automates the middle mile — the short, fixed, repeatable B2B runs between distribution centers and retail stores, using autonomous box trucks.

That focus is the strategy: fixed routes are far easier to solve and validate than open-ended highway driving, which is why Gatik reached driverless commercial operations relatively early and has completed tens of thousands of fully driverless orders for customers including Loblaw and Nippon Express-linked partners. It has raised roughly 273 million dollars, with strategic backing from customers and logistics players.

The honest framing: Gatik's constrained-route approach is a genuine engineering advantage, and its driverless commercial track record is real. The AI is a full Level 4 stack; the trade-off is scope — its addressable market is the specific middle-mile niche rather than all of trucking.
