Updated June 24, 2026Genia is an American artificial-intelligence company headquartered in Los Angeles, California, with an office in Singapore, founded in 2023, that builds an AI structural-design assistant. Its platform takes architectural drawings — PDFs, CAD, or building-information models — and uses AI first to recognize the architectural elements, then to generate multiple physics-validated structural layout options optimized for cost, feasibility, and sustainability, complete with code-compliant analysis. The goal is to compress the early structural-design phase from days to minutes, giving engineers several viable schemes to review and refine rather than starting each from scratch; the company claims roughly ten-times-faster design and around twenty percent material-cost savings. Genia came out of stealth in early 2025 with a three-million-dollar pre-seed round and reports use by more than two hundred firms. For structural engineers, Genia is one of the clearest examples of a genuinely AI-native tool built for the discipline — AI that proposes the structure, not just checks it.
