Updated July 4, 2026Govini is a software company founded in 2011 that focuses on the 'business of defense' — acquisition, logistics, and supply-chain analytics rather than battlefield operations. It is headquartered in Arlington, Virginia and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Its flagship Ark platform is an AI software-as-a-service system that unifies Department of Defense procurement, logistics, and supply-chain-risk data, spanning science and technology, production, sustainment, logistics, and modernization. Ark is designed to illuminate adversary-dependency risk across the defense industrial base and deliver decision advantage for how the Pentagon buys and sustains capabilities.
Govini reached unicorn status following a 150 million dollar investment from Bain Capital, which is its majority owner, and surpassed 100 million dollars in annual recurring revenue in 2025. Its contract footprint includes a 919 million dollar, 10-year GSA SCRIPTS supply-chain-risk vehicle (April 2025), a 49 million dollar Army Ark SaaS contract (August 2025, through 2030), and a DoD-wide single-award IDIQ (October 2025); the Army, Navy, and Space Force each granted Ark an Authority to Operate in 2025.
Because Ark scores vendors and supply-chain risk, data-quality and model-bias issues can misallocate funds or mislabel vendors, requiring human adjudication — and Bain's majority ownership combined with large sole-source vehicles raises competition and lock-in questions.
