Matterport is the category-defining 3D digital-twin platform — its Cortex AI auto-builds a dimensioned 3D model and room layouts from a scan, and its generative tools remove or add furniture and virtually remodel spaces. Founded in 2011 and headquartered in Sunnyvale, California, Matterport was acquired by CoStar Group in 2025 and now operates as part of the CoStar family, with more than ten million spaces captured worldwide.
