📋About Motive

Updated August 26, 2026

Motive — formerly KeepTruckin — is a fleet-operations company founded in 2013 and headquartered in San Francisco, and the primary rival to Samsara in AI-powered fleet management. It combines telematics, an AI Dashcam, and spend management, and in December 2025 filed to go public on the NYSE at a valuation reported around 2.85 to 3 billion dollars, with roughly 500 million dollars in annual recurring revenue.

The load-bearing AI is vision-based safety: the AI Dashcam detects unsafe driving events — distraction, following too closely, sign violations — in real time, and the company claims its system has helped prevent well over one hundred thousand collisions.

The honest framing: Motive's computer-vision safety detection is genuine, load-bearing AI, and it is one of the two clear leaders in AI fleet safety alongside Samsara. It is an IPO-track company rather than yet public.
