📋About Nimble Robotics

Updated August 26, 2026

Nimble Robotics is an autonomous-fulfillment company founded in 2017 and headquartered in San Francisco, building general-purpose robots that pick, pack, and ship e-commerce orders with minimal human involvement. It reached unicorn status with a 106 million dollar Series C led by FedEx that valued it around one billion dollars.

Its thesis is learned general-purpose manipulation: rather than a machine tuned for one task, Nimble trains robots to grasp and handle the huge variety of items in a fulfillment center, and operates a fully autonomous fulfillment network on top of that capability.

The honest framing: the learned manipulation and perception are the whole innovation — genuine, load-bearing AI in one of robotics' hardest domains. Its FedEx backing ties it into a major logistics network, and its bet is breadth (general-purpose picking) rather than a single narrow task.
