OpenEvidence

OpenEvidence is an AI platform for clinical decision support, giving physicians evidence-based answers to medical questions at the point of care, with citations back to the primary literature. Built on partnerships with leading medical publishers and journals, it is designed for the accuracy and traceability medicine demands — every answer shows its sources. By 2026 it had become one of the most widely adopted physician-facing AI tools in the United States, used by a large share of US doctors and handling well over a million clinical consultations a day, and reached a multi-billion-dollar valuation.

In June 2025 OpenEvidence sued Doximity, the physician network whose Doximity Ask assistant competes with it, in federal court in Massachusetts, alleging that Doximity employees used physicians' provider numbers to get into OpenEvidence and tried to extract its confidential instructions through prompt injection. Doximity disputes the claims and has filed counterclaims; as of September 2026 the case was in discovery, and no allegation on either side had been proven.
