Theator

Theator builds "surgical intelligence" — computer-vision AI that analyzes video from the operating room. Modern surgery generates rich video from laparoscopic and robotic cameras that historically vanished after the case; Theator captures and analyzes it to identify the steps of a procedure, surface key moments and safety milestones, support surgeon training and performance review, and automatically generate operative documentation. Having analyzed hundreds of thousands of procedures across many surgery types, the company announced a US partnership with Oracle Health in 2026 to bring surgical intelligence into more health systems. The surgical-video AI category is young; the value proposition is turning a previously discarded data stream into feedback, documentation, and eventually decision support, while the surgeon remains fully in control of the operation.
