📋About Tyler Technologies

Updated July 4, 2026

Tyler Technologies is the largest US public-sector software company, with more than 45,000 installations across roughly 15,000 locations in all 50 states. Its suite spans courts and public safety, ERP and finance, permitting and land management, and citizen services — the systems many state and local governments run on.

In 2026, Tyler formalized an AI strategy rather than shipping a single standalone AI product: it appointed a Chief AI Officer, expanded a roughly 1.0 billion dollar credit facility to support AI and transactions, and presented an AI strategy and 2030 vision at its 2026 Investor Day. The approach weaves AI assistants and automation across its many modules.

Tyler is best understood as an incumbent AI adopter — a dominant government-software vendor layering AI across a broad product line — where features are early and vary by product rather than concentrated in one flagship AI tool.
