Updated July 4, 2026Vantor — formerly Maxar Intelligence — provides very-high-resolution optical satellite imagery from the former Maxar WorldView constellation, combined with AI-driven analytics. Its flagship analytics product, Sentry, launched in June 2025 as an automated change-detection service that fuses imagery from multiple constellations and sensors to flag physical changes across large areas without an analyst reviewing every frame.
The company's roots run through Maxar Technologies, which was taken private by Advent International (with BCI) in a 6.4 billion dollar deal announced in December 2022 and completed in 2023. In October 2025, Advent carved the business into two companies: Vantor, focused on intelligence software and analytics, and Lanteris, focused on satellite manufacturing. Vantor is headquartered in Westminster, Colorado, and is not publicly traded.
Vantor's business depends deeply on defense and intelligence customers. It holds an NRO Electro-Optical Commercial Layer 10-year contract potentially worth up to roughly 3.24 billion dollars over the decade. Persistent high-resolution overhead imaging carries strong surveillance and dual-use implications, and its automated change detection produces candidate alerts that still require analyst confirmation.
