WeRide

WeRide is an autonomous-driving company founded in 2017 and headquartered in Guangzhou, publicly traded on the Nasdaq under the ticker WRD with a Hong Kong secondary listing. Its distinguishing feature is geographic breadth: it operates a mix of robotaxis, robobuses, and even autonomous street sweepers across more than forty cities in around a dozen countries, with driverless deployments in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Singapore, and a partnership with Uber.

That international footprint is WeRide's strategy — rather than concentrating in one market, it has pursued permissive regulatory environments across the Middle East, Asia, and Europe.

The honest framing: WeRide's Level 4 autonomy is genuine AI, and its multi-country, multi-vehicle deployment is real and unusually broad. But as with all robotaxi operators, commercial scale and unit economics remain works in progress, and operating across many jurisdictions brings its own regulatory and operational complexity.
