Zipline

Zipline is an autonomous-drone-delivery company founded in 2014 and headquartered in South San Francisco, valued around 7.6 billion dollars after a 2026 funding round, with more than two million deliveries completed. It began delivering blood and medical supplies in Rwanda and Ghana and has expanded into US retail and health delivery with its P1 and next-generation P2 drones.

Autonomy is the whole product: the drones fly long routes, sense and avoid obstacles and other aircraft, and navigate to precise drop points without a pilot.

The honest framing: autonomous flight, detect-and-avoid perception, and routing are all genuine, load-bearing AI, operated at real scale over millions of deliveries. Zipline is the clear flagship of autonomous drone delivery, with a track record that predates most of the sector.
