The Financial Times reports that Atoms, the industrial-robotics company founded by Uber co-founder Travis Kalanick, is preparing a hiring push and acquisitions aimed at the autonomous-vehicle market, and has talked with Uber about using its robotaxi technology. Uber has already invested $100 million in Atoms. The company has not announced the move itself, so this is reported direction rather than a launch, though it fits both Kalanick's "unfinished business" framing and the Atoms purchase of autonomous-mining startup Pronto.
