📋About Siemens

Updated June 15, 2026

Siemens AG is a 175+ year-old German industrial conglomerate, one of Europe's largest industrial companies and a global leader in automation, digitalization, energy, mobility, and healthcare. Founded in 1847 by Werner von Siemens and Johann Halske as a telegraph company, Siemens trades on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange (and as a sponsored ADR on OTC: SIEGY) with a market capitalization of approximately $150 billion as of 2026. FY2024 revenue was approximately €78 billion across roughly 320,000 employees worldwide.

The company is organized into five operating segments: Digital Industries (factory automation, motion control, PLM software including NX and Teamcenter, simulation), Smart Infrastructure (building automation, electrification, grid technology), Mobility (rail systems, signaling), Siemens Healthineers (majority-owned publicly-traded subsidiary covering medical imaging, diagnostics, and advanced therapies), and Siemens Financial Services. Siemens Energy was spun off as a separate public company in 2020.

Siemens Industrial Copilot, launched in 2023 in partnership with Microsoft, is the company's flagship generative-AI offering for shop-floor engineers — providing natural-language interaction with TIA Portal, SIMATIC PLCs, and other Siemens automation systems. The Industrial Copilot extends across the company's digital-twin and PLM portfolio (NX, Teamcenter, Plant Simulation), bringing AI assistance to mechanical design, manufacturing planning, and operations. Siemens Healthineers separately offers AI-Rad Companion (radiology workflow AI), Cinematic Reality (3D visualization), and AI-Pathway Companion (clinical pathway AI) integrated with the company's imaging devices and diagnostic platforms.
