Updated July 4, 2026Slingshot Aerospace provides AI-powered space domain awareness, fusing disparate data about objects in orbit into a single common operating picture using object tracking, astrodynamics, AI, and data fusion. Founded in 2017 and headquartered in Austin, Texas, Slingshot owns no imaging satellites of its own — it fuses data collected by others.
Its AI system, Agatha, was developed under DARPA's PRECOG program (which ran from March 2023 to January 2024) and trained on more than 60 years of simulated constellation data. Agatha detects anomalous behavior within large satellite constellations, flagging spacecraft not operating as intended or possible bad actors. Slingshot serves government and commercial operators for collision avoidance, space-traffic management, and modeling, simulation, and training.
Slingshot has raised roughly 44.1 million dollars across five rounds. Notable awards include a 27 million dollar US Space Force contract to power an AI-driven space-warfare training environment and selection for the MDA SHIELD IDIQ vehicle. Note that Slingshot Aerospace is entirely distinct from Slingshot AI, an unrelated mental-health company.
